I will be posting everyday for blogmas.
I really want to take the opportunity to interact more with blogmas. Blogoween was going to be a starting point, but I was sick the entire month of October. I love to write but sometimes I get writer's block. How was your first day of December? I had a great day staying busy with errands, cleaning and working. I was also walking and playing with my dogs.
So I started writing Fruity Friday post and I want to continue that. There are so many things to learn and know about fruit. Also, there different ways to eat and enjoy fruit.
There are many foods around during the holiday festivities. Fruit dishes are a favorite for many. My favorite is pumpkin pie. On Thanksgiving I made a pumpkin pie from scratch. It was amazing because my house smelled like pumpkin for a few days.
What is your favorite food during the Holiday season?
Here are five fruits to enjoy this season and why you should:
Pears- Pears are good fresh or warm.
You should eat more pears to help fight colds with the high amounts of vitamin C in pears.
Potassium can be found in pears to help with pain from the cold. Pears are high in fiber so they can help keep you full through the winter.
Mandarin Oranges- Mandarin oranges are great to add to salads, smoothies and to any warm dish like green beans, or pies. Eat mandarin oranges with your dishes through the holidays for a boost of vitamin B for energy and vitamin c for your immune system. Mandarin oranges are also high in potassium to keep stress, and anxiety down, and smiles up!
Kiwifruit- Kiwi is great is fruit salads, sandwiches or mixed with fresh veggies. You can add kiwi to warm dishes as well. Kiwi's have the most vitamin c so start your day with a kiwi. Kiwi's will help fight cancer, heart disease, and macular degeneration. Keep your positive mood up with a kiwi daily.
Dates- Can be found fresh or packaged. They are sweet both ways, and can be eaten fresh or cooked. Sweeten up any dessert this season with dates! Dates will relieve pain with from the high levels of magnesium. Help with blood flow from the iron, and support your liver with the vitamin b6 dates provide.
Passion Fruit- Is a great topping for any meal, or can be made into many desserts. Eat passion fruit and the seeds for the many benefits from passion fruit. Passion Fruit is full of iron to help blood flow. Eat passion fruit for vitamin c, calcium, and potassium!
I hope you all have had a great fruity friday!
See you tomorrow!
