Today was an amazing day for a walk through the woods. I was feeling trapped so we went out for a drive that turned into a walk around a lake. I thought I seen a huge tortoise but it turned out to be a broken down boat. We did see turtles on logs sticking up from the water. There would be like five in a row on one log! We seen these beautiful fairy flowers, covered in bees. I was like oh so pretty, then i look and each flower has a bumble bee on it. There was a horsefly following us through he entire trail flying past my face. We passed over a small ditch coming from the lake. My boyfriend was taking pics then I notice a snake camouflage orange and brownish black on a log. Some people approached, my boyfriend showed them a picture of the snake then all of a sudden the snake launches into the water. A fish quickly swims around a log to get away from the snake. I am not sure if he was able to catch his lunch but I am sure he did, it was quick!
I love to be in nature, it always helps balance everything. Even though there were things around me that increase my anxiety, I just continued to keep hiking! Hiking always challenges me, and that clears my head from everything else. I can look at snakes, and so many trees, butterflies, run from horseflies, and smell leaves, flowers, grass water, fish! The air was cool and breezy today I am so grateful for this considering the heat in the west, and the hurricanes in the south. I hope everyone stays strong and finds a way through whatever they are going through.
What did you do today?
